A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited bulk messages, but this problem can be rectified by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you have a Linux cloud website hosting plan with us and you want to enable the catch-all option for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it will take literally just a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can pick one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be activated with ease if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small-size logo handily located directly next to each one. With just a mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature using the menu that will appear. In case any of the preconditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
